Inside Scoop: Stocked with 4,204 rainbow trout on June 16 and 1,828 more on June 19, 2026, plus 844 Arctic char on May 29. Look for good late-summer rainbow action on small streamers/nymphs; float tube or canoe access helps. Great fishing from a dock, as well as from shore.

Inside Scoop: Historically one of the area's best rainbow trout spots. ADF&G notes rainbow trout fishing here has been "excellent". First stocking before Memorial Day and another around July 4. Fishbrain anglers are logging solid rainbow trout catches. Great bank access as public trails surround most of the lake shore.

Inside Scoop: Family-friendly, easy-access lake popular for landlocked king salmon and rainbow trout; 3,429 rainbow trout stocked May 27, 2026. Also a popular winter ice-fishing spot. Great fishing from a canoe or inflatable as shore access is limited.

Inside Scoop: Stocked with rainbow trout: 4,585 on May 19 and 5,426 on June 17. Fishbrain anglers rate it 3.2/5. Recent catches include rainbow trout 14–21" plus burbot. Good for shore fishing; best early morning/evening.

Inside Scoop: A bit of a "hidden gem" that gets lighter fishing pressure than the bigger Anchorage lakes, mainly because most of the area around the lake is privately owned. No news on recent stocking efforts but it does have Rainbow trout, and occasional Arctic grayling.

Inside Scoop: A larger, boat/canoe-friendly lake. Stocking 3,362 rainbow trout May 19, 2,600 on June 30, 2026, plus 2,011 Arctic char on May 29. Note: Any pike caught should not be released and reported. Great boating and canoeing location, as most of the shore is privately owned.

Inside Scoop: Fishing "excellent" for rainbow trout. 2026 stockings: 1,940 on May 27, 1,162 on June 12, and 1,459 on June 17. Good family spot — bank access from Taku-Campbell Park, try small spinners or streamers near the deep holes.Plenty of bank access with nice walking trails following Campbell Creek.
Airstrip/Willow Pond

Inside Scoop: Freshly stocked with 2,892 rainbow trout on June 12, 2026. Airstrip is a small, easy-access spot with a long stocking history back to the 1990s, and it typically gets a second smaller stocking in late August. Good pick if you want to combine fishing with a Portage Glacier day trip. Great shore fishing as well as canoe or float tube.

Inside Scoop: This lake has a fishing dock — Stocked with 2,034 rainbow trout on June 13, 2026. Occasionally also gets Arctic grayling stocking (most recently 2019/2020), though this year's records show rainbow trout only so far. The dock makes it especially kid- and mobility-friendly, and it's known to fish well on warm summer days. Great rainbow trout fishing location.
Tangle Pond

Inside Scoop: Stocked with 1,049 rainbow trout on May 22, 2026. It's the smallest of the three Portage Valley ponds by stocking numbers but follows the same pattern — can be excellent in warm weather, with landlocked king salmon and Arctic char historically part of the mix there too. Great location for a quiet canoe or inflatable fishing trip.
